A City on a Hill Cannot Be HiddenThe hill in the distance is the city of Safed as viewed from the Lake of Galilee. It can be seen from most of the Galilee, even in the early morning fog (which is the case in this picture). The valley below is possibly the site where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. The building on the right is a church built to commemorate the Beatitudes. When Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount and referred to the city on a hill that cannot be hidden, he was possibly referring to Safed. Even at night, the lights of the city could be seen. To find out more about being a light in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, take a quick break from the tour and check out a Bible Study on the subject.
